Rubber Bones

Ingredients

  • glass jar
  • vinegar
  • chicken bone - a leg or "drumstick" will work best

Directions

Begin with a coocked chicken bone. Be sure to rinse it off to remove any leftover meat. Notice how hard the bone is - try bending it. Like your bones, chicken bones have a mineral called calcium in them to make them hard.

Place your cleaned chicken bone into a jar filled with vinegar. Wth the lid on, let the bone sit in the vingar for a few days. Durring this time, the acid in the vinegar will break down the calcium carbonate in the chicken bone.

For best results, you may need to replace the vinegar every two days.

When finished, the chicken bone will be flexible like a piece of rubber.
